About Adventure 101
Most math games feel like worksheets in disguise. Adventure 101 tries something different by folding the problems directly into a fantasy role-playing adventure. You pick one of two heroes, set sail, and battle monsters, open locked doors and complete quests, with every successful action tied to solving a math question. It comes from Blue Wizard Digital, co-founded by Jason Kapalka of Bejeweled and Plants vs. Zombies fame.
The difficulty scales across roughly grades one through six, lining up with common elementary math standards. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and more show up as the story progresses. Because quests are split into short segments, a session fits neatly into a class period or a homework break without losing the thread.
How to play Adventure 101
Choose your hero at the start and begin exploring the world map, talking to characters and taking on quests. When you enter a fight, each attack or defensive move is powered by a math problem, and answering correctly lands the hit. Wrong answers give the enemy an opening, so accuracy matters more than speed. Outside of combat, puzzles and locked doors use math as well. Victories reward gold and materials that you can spend on crafting gear, which makes later battles easier. Keep progressing through islands and story chapters to unlock new areas.

Tips & strategy
- Take a moment to double-check answers in tough battles. A missed problem costs more than the few seconds it takes to verify.
- Craft new gear whenever you have enough materials. Better equipment gives you breathing room in harder fights.
- Explore side paths and talk to every character, since hidden areas often hold extra loot and quests.
- If a chapter feels too hard, revisit earlier zones to collect resources before pushing forward.

Adventure 101 FAQ
What grade levels is Adventure 101 designed for?
It targets roughly first through sixth grade. Problems start with basic operations and grow more demanding as you advance, following the kinds of standards used in elementary classrooms. That range means younger students can enjoy the early chapters while older kids still find a challenge later in the adventure.
Do I need to be good at math to enjoy it?
Not at all. The game ramps up gradually, and the RPG side gives you reasons to keep practicing, such as better gear and new islands to explore. Taking your time on answers is fine, since accuracy matters more than speed, so it works for kids who are still building confidence.
Can teachers use Adventure 101 in class?
Many do. Because it runs in a browser on Classroom 6X, it works on school Chromebooks without installs or accounts, and quest segments are short enough to fit into part of a lesson. It is a fun option for math centers, early finishers or review days.
