Clicker Heroes
Click to slay, hire heroes, beat the boss, and push one zone further every run.
About Clicker Heroes
Clicker Heroes, released by Playsaurus in 2014, takes the incremental formula and wraps it in a monster-slaying adventure. You begin by clicking a lone slime, collecting gold as it drops, and spending that gold to recruit heroes who deal damage on their own. Each new zone brings tougher enemies, and every fifth zone throws a boss at you with a strict thirty-second timer. It is a simple setup that quickly becomes a numbers game with real decisions.
What keeps players coming back is the prestige loop. Ascending trades your progress for hero souls, which summon Ancients that permanently boost damage, gold, and idle play. Later, transcendence adds outsiders and another layer of long-term planning for patient heroes. You can play it actively, clicking furiously through boss fights, or leave it running and check back later for a pile of gold.
How to play Clicker Heroes
Each zone asks you to defeat ten monsters before moving on, while every fifth zone features a boss you must beat within thirty seconds. Click enemies to deal damage and collect the gold they drop, then spend it leveling heroes such as Cid, Treebeast, and Ivan. Heroes deal damage per second automatically and unlock upgrades and active skills as they level. When progress stalls, ascend to cash in hero souls, hire Ancients, and start over much stronger. The loop blends active clicking bursts with idle hours, letting you choose how hands-on each session feels.

Tips & strategy
- Focus most of your gold on your strongest damage hero, since newer heroes quickly outscale older ones.
- Save your active skills for bosses that are just barely out of reach, then chain them together for a burst.
- If a boss keeps timing out, turn off auto-progression and farm the previous zone for gold before trying again.
- Collect gilded heroes after ascensions and move the gilds onto the hero you plan to push with.
- Early on, Siyalatas suits idle play while Fragsworth and Bhaal reward active clicking, so pick Ancients that match your style.
Game features
- Endless zones with timed boss fights
- Dozens of heroes with unique upgrades
- Ancients and outsiders for deep prestige
- Active clicking or fully idle play styles
Clicker Heroes FAQ
What are hero souls used for in Clicker Heroes?
Hero souls are earned mainly by ascending and defeating primal bosses. You spend them to summon and level Ancients, which provide permanent bonuses such as extra damage, more gold, faster skill cooldowns, or stronger idle play. Unspent souls also add a small damage bonus, so there is a balance between saving them and investing them.
When should I ascend in Clicker Heroes?
A good rule is to ascend once progress slows to a crawl and you can gain a meaningful number of hero souls compared with what you already have. Early runs might end around zone 100 to 130. Ascending too often wastes time, while waiting too long means grinding zones that barely move you forward.
Can I play Clicker Heroes in my browser at school?
Yes, it plays directly in the browser on Classroom 6X with no download or account needed. It works well on Chromebooks and low-powered laptops because the game is lightweight. Progress is saved locally in your browser, so stick to the same device and browser if you want your heroes and Ancients waiting for you next time.
