About Cluster Rush

Few browser games deliver the rush of this one. Cluster Rush puts you on the roof of a moving truck, then asks you to hop onto the next one, and the next, while the convoy swerves, splits and plunges over ledges. Made by Landfall Games, the studio later known for Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, it has the same playful, slightly unhinged energy, wrapped in a clean, minimalist first-person look.

Each level is a short gauntlet built around one trick: trucks that flip, trucks that launch, trucks that turn at the last second. Runs are quick, so a failed jump costs you seconds rather than minutes. That tight loop of trial, error and improvement makes it easy to keep saying just one more try.

How to play Cluster Rush

You start on top of a truck and must reach the finish zone at the end of each stage by jumping from vehicle to vehicle. Trucks travel in clusters and change behavior as the level goes on, speeding up, drifting apart, tilting sideways or dropping off edges. Watch where each truck is headed, not where it is right now, and time your jump so you land squarely on the roof. Falling onto the road or into the void resets you to the start of the level. Later stages add longer gaps and moving obstacles.

Tips & strategy

  1. Lead your jumps. Aim at where the target truck will be when you land, since everything keeps moving while you are airborne.
  2. Sprint only for the long gaps. Extra speed on short hops often carries you right off the far side of a roof.
  3. Stand near the center of the truck while you wait, which gives you room to react when it tilts or brakes.
  4. Watch the first few seconds of a level before committing. Most trucks telegraph their turns and launches.
  5. Use the mouse to glance ahead down the road so you are not surprised by a split in the convoy.

Cluster Rush FAQ

Who made Cluster Rush?

Cluster Rush was created by Landfall Games, the Swedish studio behind Totally Accurate Battle Simulator and Clustertruck. In fact, Cluster Rush is the free browser prototype that inspired Clustertruck, which later expanded the same truck-hopping idea into a full release with more levels and abilities.

Why do I keep sliding off the trucks?

You inherit a bit of the truck's momentum, and landings near the edge leave little room to stop. Try landing closer to the middle, release the movement keys as you touch down, and avoid sprinting on short jumps. Small adjustments in the air matter more than raw speed.

Can I play Cluster Rush on a Chromebook?

Yes. It runs in the browser on Classroom 6X without any download, and it performs well on most Chromebooks. Since it is a first-person game, a mouse makes aiming your view much easier than a trackpad, though a trackpad works fine for the early levels.
