About Drive Mad

Drive Mad is a physics-based driving puzzler from Martin Magni, the creator of the Fancade platform. Each level hands you a different vehicle, from a monster truck to a tiny car to something that barely qualifies as a car at all, and drops you onto a track full of seesaws, loose planks, and rolling obstacles. Getting to the checkered flag in one piece takes more finesse than raw speed.

The blocky, voxel-style art keeps things light, but the challenge ramps up fast across dozens of stages. There is no drifting or racing opponents here, only you, the terrain, and physics. The quick restarts make it perfect for Classroom 6X sessions where you just want to beat one more tricky level.

How to play Drive Mad

Drive from the start to the finish flag without flipping your vehicle or breaking it apart. You only control the throttle and reverse, which also tilt the vehicle when it is in the air. Accelerating lifts the nose, while reversing pulls it down, so you use both to balance over bumps, land jumps cleanly, and crawl across unstable bridges. Some levels require slow, careful movement, while others need a burst of speed to clear a gap. If you flip onto your roof or get stuck, simply restart and try a different approach.

Tips & strategy

  1. Feather the throttle instead of holding it. Short taps keep all four wheels on the ground and stop the vehicle from wheelieing backward.
  2. Tap reverse while airborne to level out a nose-high jump and land on your wheels instead of your rear bumper.
  3. On collapsing bridges, keep a steady medium speed; stopping halfway usually drops you, but racing across can bounce you off.
  4. Study a level for a second before driving. Many obstacles, like seesaws, need you to wait for them to tip before you cross.
  5. If a vehicle feels top-heavy, climb slopes slowly and lean forward with small reverse taps to avoid flipping over backward.

Drive Mad FAQ

Who made Drive Mad?

Drive Mad was created by Martin Magni, the developer behind Fancade, a mobile collection of small games and a game-making tool. Drive Mad started as one of the most popular Fancade levels before spreading to browser game sites. Its mix of chunky voxel art and tricky physics puzzles comes directly from that Fancade style.

Why does my car keep flipping in Drive Mad?

Flips usually come from holding the gas too long. Acceleration lifts the front of the vehicle, so on steep ramps or after jumps it tips backward. Tap the gas in short bursts, and use reverse in the air to push the nose down. Heavier vehicles need gentler inputs, while lighter ones bounce more on rough terrain.

Can I play Drive Mad on a school laptop?

Yes. Drive Mad loads right in the browser and runs well on Chromebooks and older school laptops thanks to its lightweight visuals. It needs only two keys, and levels are short, so you can clear a stage or two in a few minutes. Touch controls also work on tablets and phones.
