Pac-Man
Waka-waka through the maze, eat the dots, and make the ghosts run for once.
About Pac-Man
Few games are as recognizable as Pac-Man. Designed by Toru Iwatani and released by Namco in 1980, it swapped the space shooters of the era for a hungry yellow hero, a neon maze, and four colorful ghosts. The result was a worldwide phenomenon that shaped arcade culture and still feels fresh today, because its rules are simple and its challenge never really runs out.
Each ghost has its own personality. Blinky chases you directly, Pinky tries to cut you off, Inky is unpredictable, and Clyde wanders in and out. Learning how they move is the key to surviving later boards, where everything speeds up and the frightened time after a power pellet shrinks. Master those patterns and a perfect board feels entirely within reach.
How to play Pac-Man
Guide Pac-Man around the maze and eat every small dot to clear the level. Four ghosts roam the board, and touching one costs you a life. The large power pellets in each corner flip the chase: for a few seconds the ghosts turn blue and flee, and eating them earns increasing points, up to 1,600 for the fourth in a row. Bonus fruit appears twice per level for extra score. Use the side tunnels to escape, since ghosts slow down inside them. Clear the maze to advance to a faster, tougher round.

Tips & strategy
- Press the direction you want before reaching a corner; Pac-Man turns faster when you pre-turn.
- Save power pellets until ghosts are close, so you can eat several of them during the short frightened window.
- Use the side tunnels as an escape route, because ghosts crawl through them while Pac-Man keeps full speed.
- Clear the dots in long corridors first and leave areas near power pellets for when you need an emergency reset.
- Remember that Pinky targets the space ahead of you, so a sudden reversal can send her the wrong way.
Game features
- Original maze gameplay from 1980
- Four ghosts with distinct chase patterns
- Power pellets, bonus fruit, and high scores
- Simple controls with endless replay value
Pac-Man FAQ
What are the ghosts' names in Pac-Man?
The four ghosts are Blinky (red), Pinky (pink), Inky (cyan), and Clyde (orange). Blinky chases Pac-Man directly and speeds up as the dots run low. Pinky aims for a spot ahead of you, Inky's path depends on both you and Blinky, and Clyde chases until he gets close, then retreats to his corner.
How do you get a high score in Pac-Man?
The biggest points come from eating all four ghosts on a single power pellet, which is worth 200, 400, 800, and 1,600 points. Bonus fruit adds more on each level. Clearing boards efficiently while baiting ghosts near power pellets is the core of high-score play, along with keeping your lives for the faster later stages.
