About Rooftop Snipers

Rooftop Snipers strips the shooter down to its funniest essentials. Two blocky gunmen stand on a narrow roof, and each has only two buttons: jump and shoot. Holding the shoot key raises your arm in a slow arc, and letting go fires. The shot does not need to kill anyone. It only has to knock the other player backward far enough to tumble off the edge.

New Eich Games built the whole experience around that wobbly aim and floaty physics. Weapons, maps and hats change between rounds, and the silliness makes it one of the most popular two-player picks on Classroom 6X. It also has a single-player mode against the computer, which is handy for learning the timing of each weapon before challenging a friend who has been practicing.

How to play Rooftop Snipers

Face your opponent across a rooftop and try to knock them off before they knock you off. Press jump to hop backward or forward and dodge incoming bullets. Hold the shoot key to swing your arm up, then release when the barrel lines up with the target. A hit pushes the enemy back; land enough of them and they fall. Some weapons fire faster, others push harder, and certain maps add slippery surfaces or moving platforms. Win enough rounds to take the match against a friend or the computer.

Tips & strategy

  1. Release early for a low shot. Many hits land at chest height, long before the arm reaches the head.
  2. Jump backward right after you fire to dodge the return shot while your opponent is still aiming.
  3. Stay away from the edge; even a weak hit can finish you if you are standing at the brink.
  4. Adjust your timing for each weapon, since heavy guns swing and recoil differently.
  5. Against the CPU, bait a shot by jumping, then fire as it lands.

Game features

  • Simple two-button controls for each player
  • Local two-player and single-player versus CPU
  • Random weapons, hats and rooftop maps
  • Physics knockback instead of health bars

Rooftop Snipers FAQ

Can I play Rooftop Snipers alone?

Yes. Along with the classic two-player mode on one keyboard, there is a single-player option where you duel a computer-controlled sniper. The CPU is a good way to learn timing for different weapons, but most players find the game funniest when a friend is sitting next to them.

Why do my shots keep missing?

Your arm rises in an arc while the shoot key is held, so the timing of the release sets the angle. Beginners often hold too long and fire over the opponent's head. Try releasing sooner, watch where the barrel points, and remember that jumping changes your height and therefore the angle.

Is Rooftop Snipers made by the same developer as Getaway Shootout?

Yes. Both games come from New Eich Games, along with House of Hazards. They share the same style of simple controls, wobbly physics and quick rounds built for local multiplayer, so if you enjoy one of them, the others are worth a try as well.
