About Run 3
Run 3 is the third entry in Joseph Cloutier's cult series about a little gray alien sprinting through tunnels suspended in deep space. What sets it apart from typical runners is gravity: walk onto a side wall and it becomes the floor, so the whole tunnel rotates around you. Missing tiles, crumbling platforms, and dark stretches force you to think in three dimensions while moving at full speed.
Beyond its endless mode, the game packs a huge Explore mode with hundreds of hand-built levels, a branching galaxy map, and a cast of unlockable characters with unique abilities. It remains a staple of browser gaming, and on Classroom 6X it runs smoothly right in your tab with no plugins required.
How to play Run 3
Guide the Runner through a tunnel full of gaps and reach the end without falling into space. Move left or right to dodge holes, and step onto a wall to rotate the tunnel so that wall becomes your new floor. Jumping lets you clear gaps and switch surfaces mid-air. In Explore mode, clearing levels opens new paths on the galaxy map and earns power cells for buying characters and upgrades. Infinite mode throws random tunnels at you to test pure endurance. Each character handles differently, so experimenting helps with tricky sections.

Tips & strategy
- When a floor section vanishes, walk onto the nearest wall instead of jumping blindly. Rotating the tunnel is often the safer escape.
- Hold a jump longer for more distance in low-gravity areas, and tap lightly when you only need to hop a single missing tile.
- Unlock the Skater early; his momentum makes long, gap-heavy stretches much easier once you learn to control his slide.
- In dark tunnels, watch for the brief flash of tiles ahead and memorize the pattern before the lights go out.
- Replay older levels in Explore mode to farm power cells when a section of the map feels too hard.
Game features
- Gravity-shifting tunnels you can run on any surface
- Hundreds of levels in the branching Explore mode
- Unlockable characters with distinct movement styles
- Endless Infinite mode for high-score chasing
Run 3 FAQ
What is the difference between Explore and Infinite mode in Run 3?
Explore mode is the main adventure, with hand-designed levels connected by a galaxy map, story cutscenes, and characters to unlock. Infinite mode generates random tunnels one after another and keeps going until you fall, making it a pure test of reflexes and endurance. Most players unlock characters in Explore before chasing distance records in Infinite.
How do I unlock new characters in Run 3?
Some characters, like the Skater and Lizard, can be purchased with power cells collected by beating levels. Others, such as the Duplicator or Pastafarian, are unlocked by reaching certain parts of the galaxy map or finishing specific story sections. Each one changes how jumping and movement feel, so try them on levels you have struggled with.
Does Run 3 work on a Chromebook?
Yes. The version here is an HTML5 build that runs in Chrome and other modern browsers, so school Chromebooks handle it well. It is designed for keyboard play, so a physical keyboard is recommended. Your progress is saved in the browser, so avoid clearing site data if you want to keep unlocked levels.
